Black – White with a POP of Color!

I participated in a recent challenge where the theme was Black – White with a POP of color. Today’s projects are the result of that challenge. (Note: I’ll be sharing another project I created for the challenge next week, so be watching for it.)

I hadn’t played with my NEW Beautiful You stamp set yet. Like many of you, I accidentally ordered the wood mount version instead of the clear mount version. I had been trying to decide whether or not to exchange it for the clear mount. My desire to play with it finally took priority! I spent last Friday playing with the stamp set. These are the ones I made for the challenge. I chose red as my “POP of color!”

Black - White DSP Dancer

I had seen variations of my first card online and knew I just had to create one for myself. Most of the samples I saw used various coloring techniques for the hat and dress. I decided to use paper piecing instead, using the patterns from the FREE Carried Away Designer Series Paper collection (Available through March 31, 2017 with your $50 purchase!)
Black - White DSP with Mediterranean Moments

My second card features the NEW Mediterranean Moments stamp set as the background to the Beautiful You stylish lady. The look is accomplished by stamping and then masking the Beautiful You image, then stamp the Mediterranean Moments image over top of the mask. So many of our fashion trends start in the Mediterranean countries so I thought the combination of these two images was perfect!

Black - White Dragonfly Dreams Cello Bag

I had intended to share this last project yesterday as a final post to my February unit swap posts, but got busy with some organizing of my craft area. I’m sharing it today because it fits in with today’s Black – White with a POP of Color theme.

This cute cello bag was a Bonus Project for those of us who attended our unit swap in person. (Thank you, Sandra!) I believe the Designer Series Paper is now retired, but you could get the same look by stamping the bee image from Dragonfly Dreams on either Very Vanilla or Whisper White cardstock.

Would you like to see a Watercolor version of the first card in this post? Then feel free to check out my Facebook Page! And, go to my website if you have decided to you NEED to have any of the products used to create these projects!

As usual, feel free to contact me, or leave a comment below, if you have any questions. Happy Stamping!
