Colorful Fall Leaves!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I LOVE colorful fall leaves. They are one of the things I miss the most since moving to the tropics. Of course, family and friends are first on that list!
One of my all time favorite fall photos was taken while I was traveling in Pennsylvania with my brother several years ago. It is of Pine Creek Gorge – Pennsylvania’s Grand Canyon. So colorful! I had the best Maple Funnel Cake ever while I was there!
Since I have visions of colorful fall leaves in my head, I just had to pull out my glossy cardstock and create a sheet of Polished Stone in autumn colors. I used Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Real Red and Garden Green. This card is the result of that “play session”.
I started by embossing a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock using my Big Shot and the Woodlands Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I layered the embossed piece on Tangerine Tango cardstock and then glued it to the front of a Chocolate Chip card base. I stamped a variety of leaves from the Vintage Leaves stamp set on the dry Polished Stone glossy cardstock and used the coordinating Leaflets Framelits to cut out the leaves. I also stamped some of the leaf images on Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper. I like the contrast of the different textures and colors. I think it better represents the colors of fall. The 1/8″ Gold Ribbon adds some sparkle and shine to the card.
Here is a second version of the card using more of the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper Leaves, and less of the Polished Stone. I couldn’t decide which one I liked better so knew I had to share both. Which is your favorite? Leave a comment below and you may find the card in your mailbox!
