Glossy Cardstock Fun!
Last Saturday’s class was full of Glossy Cardstock fun! Those attending my techniques class left with finished cards, a lot of finished glossy cardstock backgrounds and a thank you gift from me.
If you have been stamping for awhile, then you are probably familiar with the many different techniques that can be used with glossy cardstock. Most of these techniques can be done using regular cardstock, but they are so much more fun and vibrant when done using glossy cardstock. The glossy cardstock allows the inks to stay wet longer so the colors can be manipulated and blended more than on regular cardstock.
Some of the techniques we used were: Polished Stone, Spritzer, Marbled, and Plastic Wrap.
Those attending the class chose the colors they wanted to use for each of the different techniques. Here are some of the finished glossy cardstock backgrounds created before and during the class.
I LOVE the shimmery backgrounds glossy cardstock produces, but I actually prefer to cut up the backgrounds into smaller pieces to be used as focal points on my cards. So once the participants finished creating the backgrounds – more than 10 of them – we cut the coordinating cardstock, ribbons, framelits and thinlits shapes, etc for them create a few cards for them to take home along with the rest of their finished backgrounds.
Before they left, each class participants received a small gift/treat bag with some of the framelits and thinlits images I had cut from the Glossy Cardstock backgrounds I had created as samples for the class. I admit to using mostly retired product for these treat bags, but I know you probably have some of these same papers (or similar ones) in your paper and scrap stashes too!!!
Come back tomorrow, and the rest of the week, for more samples from the Glossy Cardstock Fun Techniques class and the projects we created with the finished backgrounds.
