Halloween Break!

It’s a Halloween Break!

It’s already past midnight on Halloween night here on Guam, but for many of you your Halloween day is just starting so I still consider myself on time with today’s Halloween Break!

I had a customer order for some Halloween Favors. I had been wanting to make some of the Haunted House version of Stampin’ Up!’s Home Sweet Home, so that is exactly what I made. Twenty four of them: 12 in Basic Gray and 12 in Smoky Slate!

I used the Home Sweet Home Bundle from the Holiday catalog. It includes the Sweet Home Stamp set and the Home Sweet Home Thinlits Dies. Buying them together saves you 10%!

I wanted an easier way for people to access the candy, so I adapted the roof. To make my adaptation you will need to (once the main two pieces of the house are assembled):

  •  Glue the roof flap on the right side (the side with the ghost) closed, but leave the other flap unglued.
  • Cut a 3″ x 2-1/4″ piece of Basic Black cardstock and scored it down the middle (at 1-1/2″).
  • Glue the right side of the roof too the right side roof flap with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. (I find it holds the best in our climate.).
  • Fill the house with treats and then close the left side roof flap.
  • Add a Glue Dot to the top left edge, then attach the left half of the roof piece… and you are done.

It’s a Haunted House that they can open without destroying the house in the process! YAY!

Here is a bonus share: a Haunted House card I made a for a recent card swap with some of my stamping friends.
