Holiday 2017 Swap Part 2!
Today’s Holiday 2017 Swap Part 2 includes my card for the swap and two extras that were handed out at our lunch meeting last week. First, the extras!
Melinda surprised each of us with this cute project. I know lots of coffee lovers who would appreciate getting a gift card from their local coffee shop in one of these for Christmas, or any time of the year!
I used the Musical Season stamp set on the tag for these quick and easy cellophane bags filled with limited edition Oreo cookies. (I LOVE to at least try the different flavors, so I buy them with the intention of sharing!) These treat bags contain: Peanut Butter, Lemon, Blueberry, Cinnamon Bun and Red Velvet.
I used the Musical Season stamp set for my swap card as well. It was my first card using these products from the Holiday Catalog, and it was the first time a had done heat embossing in a very long time. I keep forgetting how much I love the look and feel of the raised images created by heat embossing. (Note: Scroll down to see the list of products I used, and scroll to the bottom for some humor about my heat embossing experience.)
These are the products I used to create my card:
As I said earlier, I decided to heat emboss the instrument on the front of the card. I stamped the image on Whisper White cardstock with VersaMark ink, poured the gold embossing powder on the stamped image, shook off the excess, and proceeded to heat emboss it with my Heat Tool. Gold flecks started flying everywhere! Confused, I picked up the container only to discover I had used Gold Glitter, not Gold Embossing Powder!!! Apparently I had mistakenly ordered two containers of glitter instead of one of each. Anyone need any Gold Glitter?!? LOL!
And I shall leave you with that laugh for today! Have a good one!
