Scrappy Bloomin’ Heart!

By | January 21, 2016

I still have a lot of Love Blossom Designer Series Paper Stack strips from my recent First Sight series of projects. I hate to see them go unused, and have found if I don’t use them ASAP then that is exactly what ends up happening, so for today’s Scrappy Bloomin’ Heart card I used a collection of them as part of the background. The concept is reminiscent of strip quilting, another art that I love! (Note: You can find my photo tutorial on how to create the Scrappy Strip Panel on my Tutorials page!)

Scrappy Bloomin' Heart Be Mine

I have used the “Be Mine” saying from the Bloomin’ Love stamp set, but you could easily substitute any of the other sayings from the stamp set in order to make it a more versatile All Occasion card.

When using scrap strips of paper, I have found it easiest if you stay within the same collection of Designer Series Paper. Stampin’ Up! has designed the collection to work together, taking all the guess work out of it for you. Another recommendation is that you begin and end with the same Designer Series Paper. The effect is similar to the post that keeps circulation on Facebook about how our brain reads the first and last letters of a word and fills in the rest.

As a “thank you” to my readers, I will send the first 10 people to post a comment below one of the handmade cards from my collection, so be sure to post your comment early!

Beautiful cards Maria, especially the pink & brown heart card with the tiny strips of patterned paper only on the left side of the card.
