My NEW Single Stamp – A Little Smile!
I just received a shipment of new stamps! Most of them were in last year’s annual catalog so they aren’t new to Stampin’ Up!, but they are new to me! They are ones I have been wanting for awhile now, but kept moving to the bottom of my wish list. I will be sharing some projects using these “new to me” stamp sets… while I wait for my shipment of Holiday catalog products to arrive. Today’s stamp image is Stampin’ Up!’s single stamp image “A Little Smile”. (Note: As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator I am able to order product before the general public. It is a way for me to create projects for my Open House events once the catalog “goes live”!)
The card features Pool Party with Basic Black accents for the card base, and a combination of watercoloring and coloring with Stampin’ Write Markers for the image. You may notice that I have used Basic Black mats behind each layer. I watched a video awhile back and noticed how much more dimension the added mats gave to the projects, and how nice it was to give the eyes a break from busy patterns, so I have started using the technique on a lot of my own creations. Try it yourself. You’ll be amazed at the difference it can make.
You may not be aware that Stampin’ Up! single images are only available as Wood Mount stamps, but that doesn’t mean they have to be used that way. I like to put the index/label directly on the foam and either scribble some Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the back (allow to dry completely before using the stamp) or use our new Tear and Tape adhesive to add some cling plastic on top of the label. Personally, I prefer the cling plastic method but either way works!
By the way, have you noticed the Designer Series Paper I have been using for the background in my photos?!? It is one of the four new patterns in our 12×12 Designer Series Paper Stack collections! This particular one is Smoky Slate, from the Neutrals Collection. You can view them all by going HERE! (Note: The Designer Series Paper used in today’s card is also one of the new patterns from the 12×12 Designer Series Paper Stacks!)
