Sketch Challenge using Coffee Cafe!

Are you ever in a stamping slump and in need of ideas or inspiration? I do. I like to surf the Internet or look back through my past projects when I have creative slumps. The inspiration for today’s card is just that. It’s a Sketch Challenge using Coffee Cafe. I used this same Sketch Challenge for a swap I organized with my Magical Ink Artist Team. I realized it would be a quick and easy card, making it a wonderful project to share with you after yesterday’s more intricate card.

I used Thick Whisper White cardstock for the base of the card. The two strips of patterned paper are from the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper collection. The coffee cup images and saying were stamped, and cut, using the Coffee Cafe Bundle which includes the Coffee Cafe stamp set and the Coffee Cup Framelits. I used my  Soft Suede Classic Stampin’ Pad and an Aqua Painter to watercolor the coffee cup; glued the Early Espresso lid and the Garden Green stir stick in place; then mounted the assembled piece on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the saying on several of the coordinating papers in the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper collection before deciding on the one I used. I glued it in place, then watercolored some Smoky Slate around the bottom of the cup of coffee. The final touch was to wrap a length of 3/8″ Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon around the card front and tie it in a knot.

I can think of several people who would love to receive this card in their mailbox, so I  will have to make a few more of them before this one gets mailed. I’m sure you have people in your life who would love to get one as well, so I hope you will take the time to make one, or more, yourself!
